DIY: How to make your own Smartphone Stand (Samsung Galaxy Note 3) – It’s as easy as 1-2-3

Are you thinking about (or perhaps even getting ready to) buy or build yourself a stand for your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (or any other smartphone, for that matter)?

If yes then you may find this post helpful, since you need to spend very little (if any) money, and not too much of time in order to get yourself a pretty nifty (and functional) stand.

The following 3 pictures show you what we’re aiming for, at the end of this how-to:

The picture below shows you how I use my smartphone, on a daily basis. Yes, I connect it up to a full-size keyboard (via a USB OTG cable) and then I use the computer keyboard to type commands very quickly and easily.

Things you will need, for this project:

1. Smartphone (of course)
2. 8mm Video Cassette Case (as shown in the next 2 pictures below)
3. Dremel/Rotary tool kit
4. Marker
5. Vice

Directions:

1. Gently separate the two pieces of the 8mm Cassette tape, as shown in the picture below:
   
2. Using your marker, mark two half/quarter circles each on the two pieces, as shown in the picture below:
   
3. Clamp each piece into your vice and use your Dremel/rotary tool (with a cylindrical sander attached) to carefully grind out the half/quarter circles.
   
   When done, attach the two pieces together and let your new stand cradle (and caress) your smartphone like never before

How about that? Cheap and cheerful, and quick and easy to make!
